Default An Angry Rhino Bites An Elephant and Gets Outta Dodge

Man, can you imagine what it must have been like to be one of the riders of the elephants...not knowing how this was going to end up. Anyone falls off and there could be a whole lot of stomping to deal with.

Looking at the picture the rhino has had its horn cut off and there is blood around its head, probably from cuts. My guess is the riders did it, that would explain the rhino's bad mood after coming out of the sedative!!!

Not sure if the horn has been cut. This is an Indian rhino (they live in Nepal too) and their single horn can vary in size a great deal from about 0.5m to being just a knob. As the people are members of a conservation team, I highly doubt they would deliberately harm a species listed as vulnerable.

It is a common practice within conservation groups to sedate and remove the horns/tusks from rhino's and elephants. It removes the point of poaching the animals, the ivory. Trick is, getting it off. As you can see, sometimes it doesn't go well.
