I"m thinking of trying to MOD some of the auto scripts to make them work a little better for my own personal use, but have NO (zero...nadda) Modding experience what so ever.
I found where the auto scripts folder is and see where the commands and values are and basically how they work. The easiest solution, to what I see as an annoyance, is to just manually edit the folder to tweak the values so they work a little bit better. But I have some serious question before I just go in and start ruining everything. ![]() Is it a faux pas to to "edit" someone else's MOD to tweet it to my liking? If I just edit the values and save the file (in word pad) and it should work? Or is that not how it works? How can I change the game to pause if I detect ANY unit just while running a script? I like playing the game while doing other stuff around the house. Can I just drop in a Set_New_Speed command and delete an Ahead_Standard and everything will be hunky dory (assuming I enter the speed and time delay correctly)? Will this completely crash the game if I edit and save these files? My problems stem from me wanting to run most "search" scripts at my fuel efficient speed of 7.5 knots and that most scripts don't work 100% as advertised if your boat isn't fully upgraded to dive and turn faster/better (as in they veer off course consistently). I think I'd like to try making my own scripts, but I'm definitely not there yet.
