Default If you have $852 quadrillion

And hundreds of thousands of labor and of course lots and lots of time to spare

Then you have enough to build this......

For that money, it would be better to develop a biological weapon that would kill humanoids but leave resources and animals. A destroyed planet is of no use to anyone.

Unless you are building a space hobby, planets are seldom the problem. The inhabitants of the planet are the problem.

Waste of empire money.

It only takes one green jedi in an x-wing to blow it to hell.

Or a single torpedo with some trilithium in. Does the job much cheaper.

Never understood why you'd need a Death Star, when one of the Incredible Cross-Sections books gives the turbolasers on an average-sized troop transport a 200 gigaton per shot yield.

For reference:

The fireball would be 40 miles wide, concrete buildings 100 miles from the hypocenter would be demolished, and people 1,000 miles away from the blast would receive third degree burns.

But yeah, the Death Star is big and scary.

How about the cost of transportation? When you destroy a planet with the Death Star you have to move it to the next planet to be destroyed.....

Grossly inefficient I say!

Doesn't matter. The energy required to accelerate one piddly space ship to light speed is infinite. How about paying for THAT!
