Default I'd like to do a fresh GWX install but...

Every time I delete all of my Steam Files of SH3 and reinstall, GWX tells me there are already "modded files detected! and that could crash the game" or somesuch.

Well, having had my game crash on basically every load and having to use workarounds (switch to 1280x1024 or less, load some single missions before loading your save file...), it's crashed so much it's come to this - a complete, fresh install.

But what am I forgetting? JSGME? The Mods that came with GWX? what?

Clean out your registry files using CCleaner or something similar.

Thanks folks

But CCleaner didn't fix the problem - GWX still thinks I have a modded SH3, even after a fresh Steam download as of a minute ago (I am assuming Steam would be smart enough to be releasing the 1.4 version of SH3...).

I absolutely can't stand the corrupted saves, the loading crashes, and the ingame crashes. But GWX is so good! I don't know what to do to fix this.

There may still be something left in your /my documents directory. That is where campaign and save information goes and is not normally deleted during uninstallation.

Steam Conversion SH3 Installation Instructions By BL!ITZKR!EG

You still have some files left somewhere on your system.
The GWX appllication is stand alone meaning it can be installed anywhere.
It looks for your SH3.exe.
JSGME is installed in your main game folder containing the GWX mods disabled.
If you have not done a Steam conversion then you need to look in your Program files (x86) Directory.
