SHO What silent hunter would i want to play?

Hi there.

Back in the good old days i used to thoroughly enjoy silent hunter 3 on reasonably high realism.

I tried number 4 when it was new but it was buggy and i missed some thing from number 3.
I guess stuff is better now with patches and mods...

If I wan't to play a polished ww2 sub experience with some depth to it what should i go for? (Modern hardware so if its good looking thats a bonus but not the end all be all)

I assume this might not be a straight answer, but I would love to be pointed in a good direction

A question about SH5 How playable is the vanilla steam version and what significant parts will I be missing out on? (NM I found the listing, there are loads of things in that modpack)

I was just a bit cautions since I have prieviosly had trouble with external mods on steam games, but I guess I just have to bite the bullet

Hi C
The stock game is bugged and unplayable.
For SH5 and Steam you will need to use this fix.

For the sake of stability it is better to use TWOS as it is 99.99% stable even though it contains over 100 mods.
For the other SH versions 3 and 4 with STEAM there is an easier conversion available.

Welcome to Subsim, Cyk0. THEBERBSTER probably offered the best advice regarding mods and playability.

Enjoy your time here.
