Today we played a simple scenario for four players
![]() The goal was to sink at least 2 subs that would appeared somewhere between our position or kill an opposite team. So me and Ghostdog on Akulas versus NeverDrinkBleach and Ice the Dice on Seawolfs. Our beginning positions were at the edge of the circle. Quite quickly I got first contact. ![]() I was tracking them, trying to get as many information as possible ![]() I was not sure what kind of contacts were shown on the map. Fishing boat ? Enemy subs ? Seawolfs ? Finally I managed to identify them. One US sub, and two Chinese: Han and Song ![]() I attacked the US sub, having hope that she would be one of the Seawolfs. I launched 4 Sizzlers ASW set as passive. And one of them killed ... a Rubis. ![]() Good. One point for us. Next I started to track the Song. With help of Ghostdog, we triangulated the position of the enemy and confirmed the range. So I fired another pair of Sizzlers. ![]() Successfully. After a long while, the Song has been sunk. ![]() Therefore we got a second score and win a battle. ![]() At the replay, I looked at the position of all submarines. I was wondering, why Seawolfs, did not attack subs, when they were so close to them. ![]() Thanks to that, we were able to detect and sink the targets. Thanks all of you for the game. See you next time. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Sizzlers are amazing...they give a big advantage against far targets.
Wow, you heard S1 at almost 30NM...Was S1 in silent running? ![]() Good approach and good battle man! |

Song and Han went at different speed. At the beginning between 7-10 kts. They changed courses, and sometimes they did speeding. Generally they were under a layer. I was above, but my TA was placed below.
As you can see on the narrowband screen, they were quite visible. Even Rubis, with her speed of 3 kts. I think that sound characteristic for this mission was very favorable to players. On the other hand, for the first time I practiced different settings for Sizzlers: passive vs active and search above/below a layer.

I have no valid excuse for not firing! Too much patience if anything.
