Some time back I made a post here (I think) about the trend of links after news stories, links that seemed to have a common theme, like "You wont believe what happens next..."

I cannot find that thread anywhere, I wonder if it got purged in the spam wave we had...?

Anyway, they have a name for that, click bait, and I got a laugh out of this Simpson clip

I found the best way to deal with those is to wait for the inevitable follow up story. Surly there must be a follow up on such an amazing story. If not then meh, no loss.

What gets me is that the picture that gets you to click is never in the pictures they show you.

Yeah, used to get me regularly on my iPhone but I eventually become educated and simply ignore them.

My main annoyance is that they are quite often embedded into the sites I trust and look at the most often.
