Default Long-Time Lurker; New Registrant

Greetings all!

I've used this forum for reference many times in the past, and have even donated a few times, but I'm just recently registering. I began playing SL3 about 5 years ago, before my first child was born. Now I have three!

I've always been an avid reader of war memoirs (my library is quite large; I've read hundreds!), but usually my reading keeps me on the ground, in infantry campaigns spanning these last 400 years up until those published within the last few weeks. I'm a military science and personal self-defense educator, specializing in teaching combat dynamics and human-thermodynamics to individuals (almost completely Americans) who require this knowledge. (Police, CPL holders, Military, etc).

Studying combat has always been one of my best resources in pushing forward new curriculum, and this is what eventually led me to reading WW2 Submarine memoirs. I blew through those of Flucky, O'Kane, and Calvert, and went out searching for more. Now, every time I read a memoir, I balance myself out by reading one the combatants they opposed (ie, I read an American Marine's memoir, and I read something from an Imperial Japanese). And eventually, THAT led me to SL3!

However, now I wish I play in the Pacific Theater, which means SL4, but I can see a few issues with the interface that I'm hoping some others have dealt with and fixed. So, I'm registering to steer over to that forum, and pose a few questions

God bless you guys - I'm so happy to see such an active community. Some of the people here, I'm reasonably sure, would actually do relatively well in real submarine warfare, provided they had Execs and assistants who knew their ships very well. I believe if SL3 had existed in 1942, it would have been TOP secret and would have been employed early on as a valuable training tool.

Good luck you guys,

PJ
