Default SH4 Stability Issues?

I just installed SH4 via Steam in order to avoid the Starforce issues. Unfortunately, I seem to have frequent CTD's necessitating excessive situational saves. I was wondering if there might be anything that could be done to improve/reduce the CTD's. Does anyone have any tips that might be helpful?

My System specs:

Intel Core i7 CPU x980 @ 3.33GHz 3.33 GHz

Installed Ram 12.0 GByte

GPU Nvidia GT470M w 1536 MBytes GDDR5 using absolute latest NVidia drivers released just last month. (March 2016)

Never Mind... I had corrupted career files... Started a new career and voila... Stability issues gone for now... Now if I only knew how the career files got corrupted in the first place!

The save file for SH4 is fairly complicated. Too many save overwrites will cause the file to get corrupted. It's best to save in a new file each time. I'll make a base save while still in the office, then each save I make while on patrol, I add a number to it. For instance, "fireftr,""fireftr1,"etc.

Ah... Nice to know... No Overwrites... That was probably my issue... I've started saving with the internal game date and time stamp as part of the save game name for info/tracking purposes

Thanks for the info.
