am slightly embarrassed to ask this, since I have been playing Silent Hunter for many years, but, having just come back into SH3 after a long break, I cannot recall how to view merchant craft in the identification manual, I can only get the ID's of warships. I am currently playing NYGM mod, though I don't suppose that makes any difference..
the other question is one of idle curiosity.. why do the big sheds on the left as you come out of the base at Wilhelmshaven all have 3 and 2 written on them? I would expect it to be sequential numbering.. ![]() |

Look under 'Handelschiff'.

"Ah press the arrows when you click on the recogniton manual. Its the first one to the right"
??? The arrows in the book just change the page, the arrows on my keyboard go to camera view. Glad I am not the only one who needs reminding, but need something more specific I think.... this might be the full answer ..... To get the recog pages for merchants I'm pretty sure you have to click the forward/back arrows or whatever it is on the front of the manual until you get to the "Handelschiffe" section (as opposed to a section for a particular nation). The warships are listed nation by nation, but the merchants are all together in one section. If you click on the name or flag of a country you'll get that country's warships and no merchants. yup, eventually you get to Handelschiffe - I had quite forgotten that. Thank you SS Last edited by She-Wolf; 02-02-16 at 09:49 AM. |

I don't even do that. I let the WE identify the ship. Once that's done I click 'Ship' on the clipboard and it comes up automagically.

ahh, I am starting over in training so want to do it 'by the book'. Had it off pretty OK in SH4, but somehow I just can't get the angle right now in SH3 - ho hum.

By the way, I still don't know how to hide the toolbar at the bottom of the screen in order to take nice screenshots. ![]() |
