Default Howdy from UK

Howdy subsimmers.

Somehow, after ~10 years this game is back on my sonar.
Well, to be honest a friend of mine was talking about world of warships and it got me thinking "what was that incredible sub sim I used to play with an american friend?". A google search later and I'm purchasing SH3 on steam. I remember reading SH4 wasn't a patch on 3, and I completely missed 5, and reading this morning about it seems I wouldn't of gotten my moneys worth out of it.

Back then I had no idea of mods and was a little green with PC gaming having only come to it 2 or 3 years previously. I most certainly had never played a sim before and I was hooked.
Time marches on and after a few months I was probably back on the most recent COD or whatever.

I've since been a big fan of sims like Elite dangerous, ARMA, Iracing etc. I like my games with a little more substance these days. And I can't tell you how real the nostalgia is to get back into this.

I do however have a question, a question that is likely asked by every bloody new sign up, I'm afraid. Yep, you've guessed it!

What are the best mods to start out with? Sorry

Also, is the SHO online I ha e just discovered worth playing (I really don't have a lot of time these days, a couple hours weekdays, maybe a few hours on a Sunday).

Anyways, sorry for the wall of text! Can't wait to get the game installed and hope its as good as Iremember!

Cheers
Nige
