This isn't really my work (well, some is, most isn't), it incorporates ideas found by MaMa and a batch file written by someone else (I can't find where I got it, apologies, please claim if it's yours and I'll edit this to credit you).
What it does? It makes it easier to launch MaMa's fix without having to elevate privileges to "high" everytime. How does it do that? It installs two files in your SH5 directory. One is called "SH5.cmd" and the other is "OSI.exe" SH5.cmd is a simple batch file that has to be run as admin to work and applies mama's fix. The other scary exe just launches SH5.cmd so you can make a shortcut and tell it to "Run as Administrator" every time (you can't do that on cmd files, must right click them. Since normal users can't elevate privileges in Win8 and above this is really helpful). To install, just drop the two files in your SH5 directory, and point your desktop shortcut to "OSI.exe" (you can do this by right clicking your shortcut, selecting "Proprerties" and changing SH5.exe to OSI.exe in the "target" text box). You also need to tell it to run as administrator. You can do that on the "compatability" tab in the same right-click->Properties menu. This is a C# .net app, and requires the .net framework 3.5 to run. Please download here if it doesn't work at first: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...ils.aspx?id=21 Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! PS: If there are any virus concerns about me uploading an exe, I included the source code in the download to look at. It's harmless. R-T-B. how about this explanation for 8.1?
http://anewdomain.net/2013/10/21/how...lder-programs/ Also, should we get and install 2.0 and 3.0 service packs? I have nothing for either one installed on my 8.1. As said neither came with my 8.1.

.net 3.5 is all you need. You don't need 2.0 or previous ones because .net 3.5 includes support for 3.0/2.0/1.1/etc. The .net 4.5 that comes with 8 and above though does NOT support 3.5 and below by default.
Leave it to microsoft to make it complicated, amirite? I would've made it a non .net app, but my C++ is awful. ![]() I'm sorry I don't have more time to write up a detailed tutorial, I've been really busy at work lately but just wanted to share my solution. ![]() |
