Default Is there any know bug with the sound guy?

After i upgraded my sonar guy with "ability sound finder" directly to 5 he is giving weird info like saying closing when they are actually going away. Saying slow speed when they are running at 19.5 kn or even say distant when they are close. I'm having this issue even when i'm about 30 meters deep.
So my question is, did i do wrong to upgrade it? Is there any known issue? Do i have to start over and avoid this upgrade?
I'm asking this because at the moment the sound guy is almost useless because it really make my life harder when it is about what target to hunt. It doesn't happen always but way too often.

Same here.

Merchants are moving fast, and escorts slow, our sonar men must be drunk.

So THATS where he went last night....
I don't know of any, I think it was just a glitch that has to do with the passive sonar, I don't think the Soundman has anything to do with this.
