Getting SH3 to work again

Any one playing this game using Win 8.1?

I can get it to work a few times, and then it stops again. Always crashing on loading the mission, or loaded a save game on a mission. In port it will load just fine.

My system:
Win. 8.1

Using GWX3

Mods used are:

RB_SH4_Effects_for_Sh3_2_03
Ambient Underwater Sounds
Combat Radio Frequency
Internal UBoat Sound Effect
Radio Berlin
The Black & Copper Torpedo Mod
The Elite U-Boat Crew Uniforms
Water Droplet Mod
GWN D-Leer 1
Light House Mod
GWX Late war Sensors Snorkel Antennas
GWX Open Hatch Mod
GWX Enhanced Damage Effect
Wooden Lifeboats mod 1.1
S3H Hsie Patch
More Wounded & Less Dead crew V2 for V16B1
Gwx DFa Flag & Pen 2010

These mods, are not the problem, as it has worked just fine playing them, before it starts to crash again.

I am missing something, to make it work using Win 8.1, sh3.exe is set to:

1. Disable display scaling on high DPI setting
2. Run this program as an admin

An ideas and help to get this game to run right again, would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it works just fine with 8.1, with no problems. Also works fine with 10.

Do you have it installed to Program Files? MS doesn't like having non-MS programs installed in Program Files.
