Just in order to temper any discussion:
http://www.amazon.com/The-Swiss-Gold.../dp/0151003343 I watched a documentary about this subject the other day. I was appalled.

Not every job in Switzerland is a gold mine and living costs over there are next to crazy, trust me.
Still, compared to America, of course it is paradise. When I talk to American friends and listen to their job conditions, working hours and benefits (or the lack of...) I feel really sorry for them. It is funny that many Americans seem to take pride in being treated that crappy instead of demanding better treatment, but the economy and, I guess, certain laws in the US don't seem to help in that case. Note though, some Swiss are already complaining that the situation is slightly degrading. They earn less than a few years ago, even they suffer from the world's economical problems, obviously. One of my closest friends is Swiss, but he never really talks money or complains - typically Swiss, we Germans can't understand someone's not complaining about something at least. ![]() |
