I have been a long time admirer of the SubSim group and have only recently gotten the nerve to stop in a create an account. I think I have played sub games since my first copy of Silent Service back in the 80's, only to eventually earn enough lawn mowing money to get Silent Service II (which my Tandy 1000 barely ran). It eventually led me to join the USN in the 90's and become a Corpsman to try and get on subs (never saw a boat though, ended up with the Marines). Spent another 12 years working Merchant Marine (i.e. Targets) and now am getting into game development and making my own seafaring games. Just stopped by to say 'HI' before heading off to a thread to plug our new game Letters of Marque. One of these days I will break out my copy of Silent Hunter IV and go a few rounds again.
