Default Problem with torpedos ALWAYS going under the keel in rough waters

So I saved right before I encountered this huge convoy west of gibraltar.

I mean its HUGE.

But every time my torpedos "hit their mark", they simply go under/through the ship! I have literally reloaded this exact save about 30 times now and they are going under almost every time. In the 30 saves I have reloaded I have gotten only 1 hit and it was a garbage hit that barely did anything.

I have tried making the depth the minimum setting, tried magnetic and impact pistols to no avail. I feel ripped off by calculating a good solution and it going under every time.

Should I just never even bother using torpedos in rough seas? it certainly seems like there is an almost 0 chance of hitting anything.

And its not just this convoy thats bugged, i actually got caught in the save/reload cycle with 2 lone ships that i encountered previously. Same problem, there was some rough waves and no matter how much I reloaded and tried they ALWAYS went under.

Im using GWX, Ahnenerbe GUI and the hardfixes if it makes a difference.

I believe that the problem may ironically be that you are setting your torpedoes too shallow. Try setting them for 5 or even 6 meters. In rough waters and when set to shallow they often run too deep.

In rough weather, set your torp shallow enough to hit the keel, but also set them to magnetic just in case they go under.
