Default Val Doonican Dies

Many of us Brits in my age group must remember Val during his televised series of the sixties and seventies.

He filled a niche amongst many other entertainment qualities singing songs many others never did.

Paddy McGinty's Goat for example:

RIP Val

Found out about Val Doonican during the Beatlemania years in the mid-60s. I heard his songs on a radio show here in Los Angeles hosted by a Brit ex-pat named Brian Clewer. His show, "The Cynics Choice", featured British songs and comedy. Val Doonican figured prominently on the show and I very much enjoyed his work. His passing is sad, indeed, and marks the further passing of an era...

RIP, Mr. Doonican, thanks for the joy...
