U 480's 2nd war patrol KTB has an excerpt like this:
16.11 By means of 3 Bolds on a NNE-course a Bold wall was laid and afterwards ran off behind the wall to the east against the current. Submerged depth, while so doing, was 5 meters above the bottom. Has anybody tried a tactic like this in the game?

I did try that once. Unfortunately for me, the destroyers on patrol that day were crewed by some very skilled and unbluffable sailors. They did not fall for my tricks, and I think, in all honesty, my BOLD attempts only pissed them off. In all, it had the opposite of its intended effects, and resulted in my (simulated) demise...

My gut feeling from NYGM is that the BOLD canisters don't effect the enemy much but I could be wrong as it's hard to estimate what works and what does not.
Never the less I think I'll try that wall thing the next time I'm forced to face the escorts' wrath. At least it gives me something to do while waiting the inevitable.
