Default Intercepting ships

I'm not really good at intercepting ships. When the contact is close its easy, but with a contact that is 15 plus km its another story. Is there a good tutorial or forum post on this ? I do some searching on the forum but maybe i use the wrong search word, i cant find anything usefull. I'm using GWX.

IMO, the very best technique for plotting intercepts is described on page 17 of LGN1's Color Recognition Manual v2, available here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=1201. It is simple, quick, and easy to learn. It uses a graphical construction which can be done directly on the nav chart. AND it requires NO MATH! The technique requires that you know the contact's heading, speed, and relative bearing. It is completely independent of what mods you are using or what the source of the contact data is.

Caveat: The description in LGN1's Rec Manual is in German. But the text is just a few sentences which translate readily with Google Translate. I'm not particularly fluent in German ("Wo ist die Toilette, bitte?") and it worked for me.

Oh, and LGN1's Color Rec Manual is a great hand-held tool to assist with target ID, especially if you are using MFM.

Good luck and good hunting.
