Hi guys,
I'm not very computer literate and I need help. I downloaded all the files into a folder and put the folder into a clean install of SH3 patched to 1.4 (deleted local game content) and haven't even opened it yet. I then run the install and it says it detects modded files. I have never downloaded any mod for this game except this mod so i'm stumped. Has anyone encountered this problem? I downloaded it from steam so it should be 1.4 aka up to date, right? I REALLY appreciate any insight you wish to offer. |

What version of windows are you using?
Are you directing the installer to the correct path for SH3? i think by default, the GWX installer looks for SH3 to be installed inside program files x86... you need to tell it to look in steam you have never installed mods before? if its the steam version it should be up to date 1.4b already

I'm using windows 7.
Ok I put it in program files x86 steamapp common, then inside silenthunter3 file, didnt work. I then downloaded jsgme mod manager and it said the mod was installed and ran it, the game was the same, no new features. Never installed any mods for any game before lol Maybe there is a different mod that gives me some of the same features? Last edited by Wine-Dark Sea; 03-26-15 at 12:45 AM. |

I'm told that Windows Vista, 7 and 8 really don't like you putting things inside the Program Files folders. I created a folder I call Games in the regular C drive, and have SH3 installed in a further folder I labeled UBISoft just for that purpose. The name doesn't matter. That it's not inside a Program Files folder does. I have GWX installed there with no problems.
