Default US Tests Stealthy Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile

It was just a matter of time considering previous statements made by China and Iran about their supposed capabilities.

Quote:
The U.S. recently tested a new long-range anti-ship missile that is designed to counter the growing anti-access/area denial (A2/AD) capabilities of states like China and Iran.

I found this linked article to be even more interesting:

http://nationalinterest.org/blog/the...stealthy-12193

It admits that America seems to overestimate the value of investing so massively in stealth, and it indicates that there will be new generation of manned 6th generation fighterbombers for the navy - not drones only after the F-35.

And the to be expected fiscal disaster this will turn into once again... Sometimes I think it is the American companies waging war against the US, not any international political adversaries.

Pfft, we can afford it. Creates jobs.

The drone fighter is the future. Manned jets will soon be obsolete.

Drone fighter would only become possible when we get a strong AI, so far there was very little progress in that department.

Drones will only be as good as the person operating them and if their location is identified it may well be easier taking out the operator rather than a number of drones.
