Default Ive made it!

After 10 years fiddling, modding, backing up, upgrading, os reinstalls and overwriting I have finally made it to the end of the game. I commanded 3 boats; U-48, U-123 and U-2528. I took part in operation drumbeat, carried out harbour raids and took on convoys like the rest of us. I completed 47 patrols and sunk over 800,000 tons of shipping including 3 battleships and 2 aircraft carriers. I did this at 67% realism but Im not bragging about the 800,000 tons as the figure is not realistic at all but my god was it fun. Without your (subsim community) help I would still be in CTD land and corrupt saves were a major threat (more dangerous than aircraft and dds).

FAR FARKIN' OUT!

RK with swords, oak leaves, and diamonds!

If you are a true fanatic, you have already started another career in August '39!

WOOHOO!!!

I've also been playing on and off for ten years and I've never made it past June 1940.

Congratulations!! Is it that feeling like eating a yogurt? Starting off amazing and then getting sad at the end? :P

I know I won't make it that far :P I think years ago I made it to early 1942 or so but I got lucky many times and it wasn't 67%, probably closer to 50-55%.

Congratulations!

I'm almost envious as the best I've managed to achieve is late 1943. One day I'll make it to the end of the war as well!

Never have made it past 1943.

Btw, what happens at the end when you dock the last time- do you get a short movie or what?

My high water mark was March 1941. That career succumbed, not to enemy action, but to VanJast's 1920x1080 mod. While I adapted it, I also added MFM and SH3Log (a Must Have for the immersion-obsessed) and figured out how to start NYGM in August '39 (no big deal). So I decided to start the career over. Never got that far since....

But I'm havin' fun!!!

Hi scott

Congratulations for your perseverance and dedication Captain.

Are you looking for a desk job?

Or are you going back and giving them hell again?

Peter

He could start a desk job with the Bundeswehr's Marine if he waits another ten years

There was no special video or anything. It just went back to the menu. I played the credits and then guess what! It crashed to desktop lol. I think the game was subconciously trying to tell me my poor type xxi was scuttled or something. It was strangely kind of poignant. I feel empty inside like I have split up with a woman. The desk job sounds boring so I am going straight out there again. I might attempt it with other megamods and I may even give sh3c a go because I have never used it. I only use GWX and hsies mod. I tweaked a few things myself too.

Well done Scott!

I'm going to reload any time it's required to get to the end of the war. It's not been necessary so far, but I'm expecting a reload in the near future

I salute your dedication
