User Radio Events.ini in SH5

G'day All,

Can anyone tell me if the events.ini in the user radio mods are recognised in SH5 or are they only set up for SH3/4?

I have never actually heard the radio events happen on the actual date of the original broadcast. I recall reading somewhere that the user radio wasn't even working the the vanilla version of SH5.

You can hear events broadcast while listening to Grossdeutscher Rundfunk, but I'm not sure if they are in the correct timeline as I don't speak German.

When looking at the folder structure of Grossdeutscher Rundfunk, all the events are in the main folder whereas the other stations have an events subfolder containing the event sound files and events.ini

I tried using the same structure with the BBC user radio mod as Grossdeutscher Rundfunk but it kind of loses it when Churchill does his victory speech or the dropping of the A bomb is announced when you are on patrol in the North Atlantic in 1940!!

Any thoughts or advice on the subject would be appreciated.

Regards....Kev*

Search probably in SH4 downloads, sound or radio mod section for Digital Truckers Radio Station Manager. works fine for SH5, too.

Have you modified the radio.ini file in the Silent Hunter 5\data\Sound\Radio for the BBC and Grossdeutscher sound files to work properly.

The A bomb file sound like it should in 1945 for me, plus all appropriate files.

I copied radio mods from SH3 and 4 accordingly. I have many radio mods that work properly.

G'day Mikemike47,

Yeah, the radio.ini file is correct. I can access all the stations but have not heard any news broadcasts except for Grossdeutscher Rundfunk , just the music.

I was more wondering if the set up with the events subfolder being inside the main radio channel folder as is correct in SH4, was actually carried over to SH5 as a working format.

As mentioned with the BBC, I just copied the files from the events subfolder and pasted them into the main folder. I now can hear the various news broadcasts but not in accordance with the events.ini.

I'll have a look at Digital Truckers Radio Station Manager as you have advised and see if I can get any joy with that.
