It seem they discovered a species of mushrooms in the Amazon that is able to digest polyurethane. And they're edible.

Plastic has the same components as sugar or fat, so it's plausable that the mushrooms completely re-arange the C H and O in the plastic. If it only ingests it, then they really haven't done anything. |
