Default CTD Problem

Having tried out just about every combination of MOD list that I could to get over CTD problems, I ended up with the list below, which appeared to be working OK. However, it has just started to CTD for no apparent reason after 10 to 20 minutes. I was wondering if any kind skipper out there could spot anything I missed?

Hi Pardon my ignorance in respect of this solution, will this work on a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 bit system?

Computer Type ACPI x64-based PC
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate

DirectX DirectX 11.1
CPU Type QuadCore Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 2400 MHz (9 x 267)

Either I have read it incorrectly or it appears to me to be for those people experiencing problems with a O.S. on 32bit, experiencing windows problem of not recognizing RAM installed above 2GB.

editing the exe as per linked solution should not be needed anymore as the exe is already large address enabled.

You can't keep a good man down.

I admire your persistence.

You can guess what I am going to say as I am repeating myself.

A bit of discipline my friend.

Cut your mod list down, test, and build it back up again.

It is the only way you will get over this problem.

I would definitely take out these to start with:

Is it happening on all Patrols?

Ctd's in the Baltic can be quite common around Danzig Bay.

Hi Graham

I am just wondering if something is impacting on your Steel Vikings Mod.

When you look at the readme he has made a considerable amount of changes in it + the patch.

It only needs one of your other mods to need the same file for them both to work properly and then you are in trouble.

You will notice that sober does not use the mod in his list.

If sober does not use it then there must be a good reason as this is a popular mod.

You are using a large mod list and that in itself can be problamatic as inevitabley a number of your mods are going to overwrite each other.

And there probably lies your answer?

Default THEBERBSTER-MoD Layout

it just seems to me that as great as all these mods are, let's face it, they make a hell of a difference over and above the vanilla game, there just seems to be no proper order of compatibility there. The Dark Wraiths New UI super mod, does not appear to like OH11 v2.5. OH11 v2.5 appears to reciprocate the feeling.

DynEnv v2.9 just hates everything (the main mod) that is.
Steel Vikings Interior mod is a major mod in my book, along the line of importance with TDW's New Ui and OH11. They just appear to fight each other.
Lets face it, if the two main mods; New UI (controlling the playing operation) and OH11 (providing the vehicle to play upon) are clashing, then surely, literally any other mod will tip the balance the wrong way.

It's a no win situation. In respect of patience and discipline, I have spent nearly 2 years just trying to achieve compatibility and to that extent, I must have taken SH5 on and off, more times than a brides nighty.

I only bought the game to play it,not play it to get it to work.
I have altered my list, once again and started a new game (back to Memmel).

I am having similar issues and short of adding mods one by one which I am not in amillion years going to do im trying different compilations.
I did have some success using sobers list but after ctd after sinking a carrier group in the Channel I have no opted for Sjizzle's mega mod

I am only just back at start of new career and stuggling with such a big UI change but I hope it is worth it.
I am close to throwing my copy in the bin or mailing it back to Ubisoft and asking for a refund.

Hi robmoore

If you are referring to sobers mod list 1600 24092014 this is for Real Navigation unless you modified it.

You will now have to get used to a new UI as you will have changed from TDW’s NewUI for Parts Magui.

Parts Magui is also a good UI that does not always get the credit it deserves.

Not sure this is the correct place for this but, as I have Wolves Of Steel only installed (which does included a lot of other mod - like above), I get CTD when adding this:

IRAI_0_0_41_ByTheDarkWraith

Thought it was a more up-to-date version [than WoS version] of this mod. CTD when I click the first officer (guy with eye patch). Removing it and problem goes away (knock on wood).

Maybe it will help someone, maybe not.

Have you taken a look at Sjizzles mod list with Parts Magui?

Parts Magui is a good alternative to 7-5-0 and is well established.
