Maybe forty years ago. I did some stupid/brave stuff back then. Not quite that in that class, though.

I once took my second ex to the top of a very high hill in San Francisco where my friends and I used to cross the face of the cliff along a rather well-worn and very, very narrow footpath about 20 feet below the top of the hill and about 60-odd feet from the bottom. I was about 30 years of age when I took her there. Looking down at the path, she asked me if would go along the path again. I told her the pre-teen, dumb version of myself would, but the now older and wiser version of myself wouldn't in a million years. She seemed disappointed; I began to wonder if she was serious when she exclaimed "Paris!" when I told her she was the sole beneficiary of the large life insurance policy I had gotten through my employers...

I want to see the gopro footage of all the people who "fail" doing stupid stiff like this. I wonder what the success/fail ratio is?

Indeed! I occasionally trail-hike on the jungle isle of Kauai along what were the warrior training paths of ancient fierce Polynesians. (They ate Captain Cook) All the trails run east to west. There is one rumored to exist in the undergrowth that runs north to south; the ancient name for it is... SCROTUM! Curiously, should I encounter it, I'm sure I will find myself, suddenly. a retired warrior

The footpath on the hill in San Francisco was reputed to have been a remnant of the Gold Rush days; local lore says some miners used to search and dig in the hills back in the mid 1800s...

Not certain but it doesn't look as tall as the Tyne Bridge...something I climbed near to the top of to talk down a jumper about ten years back.....never again.

If youda let 'im jump then you wouldn't have had to climb the bridge.

If I'm to be honest, there was a large element of bravado because of the onlooking ghouls.

Danke.
