Not really, there should be plenty of tutorials online with big friendly pictures telling your friend what to do and what not to do step by step. Personally I have built so many systems it's become second nature.
Think of it as an oversized lego where everything can only fit in the right socket/slot. |

Having a copy of the motherboard manual would be a boon, so you can get all the wiring installed in the proper connector sockets. Other than that it's a piece of cake.
