Default The price of a President

As many of you may know Denmark is a monarchy and the head of this monarchy is the Queen Margrethe II

The Queen and her husband Prince Henrik gets about 1187142 $ every month in upkeep

The Queen is very popular, however there are people that want to replace her with a president

They say it would be a lot cheaper

The Queen has to pay wages to her employees and 10 % of her upkeep is Prince Henrik's "spending cash"

So my question is how much does the President in USA get every month and shall he pay wages to his employees to?

Thank you for the link

Since 2001 the President of USA gets every year $400000 this is what I understand his own money. He has to pay for his own food
(While the President technically has to pay for his own food)

Additionally to his salary, the President gets numerous expense accounts

Have used the currency calculator to calculate how much 400000 is in Danish and some of the other money he gets. It seems that the President of US is a very expensive employee.

I guess a Danish President wouldn't get that much in salary.

And then you have the Senate and the Congress= The Danish Folketinget.

The really big expense is the surrounding bureaucracy which is immense and extremely unwieldy. There is a lot of "pork" in the business of government and a lot of obstacles in the way of reforming the situation. Take, for example, the current problems in the US Veterans Administration: While there are a lot of calls for the resignation of the Secretary of Veterans Affairs (most vociferously from the opposition party; it is an election year, after all), the sad truth is the upper-level and mid-level officials in the Veterans Administration are protected by numerous laws and regulations so that even if they have failed or are derelict in their duties, there is little or no possibility of removing them from their post as a means of changing the system. Its rather like trying to kill cockroaches cutting off their heads -- the body still keeps moving and lives on...

Take a look at Britain. Replacing the monarchy doesn't reduce their cost. Unless you take the French solution.

Bureaucracy, security and routine maintenance of associated infrastructure (official residences etc.) for President of the Republic of Finland costs about €9,000,000 annually. This does not include president's salary nor certain other expenses. With today's exchange rate that is about $12,3 million.

I will return to this with more details in Saturday when I have time to dig into budget.

The Queen remains very popular not only in the UK but throughout the Commonwealth.

On Topic - the price of a president

The US is being reigned by 200 families, they basically decide by sponsoring who becomes president. I think ttus the price seems high for normal people, but riduclously low for those families, getting so much influence on politics..

Monarchies bring in tourists.
Nobody's flying in to see Borut Pahor, that's for sure

I should imagine tourism in London benefits the UK greatly.

The monarchy does certainly bring in the money, just as much as the landmarks.

You mentioned the second cause to why they want a President or why the royalist don't want to replace the Queen

The Tourism

Of course nobody knows. I have hard to believe that a Danish President could get that famous and get people from around the world to visit Denmark.

There are tourist from all over the world that takes a trip to America to either see the President or the White House

The White House is a very famous landmark itself and the President is the most powerful in the world.

The Reason to why the Danish Queen is very popular is her way to interact with the ordinary Danish people.
For an example before when their kids were young she could walk like an ordinary Dane and make some shopping in a nearby store.

And she is not afraid of saying her meaning to a Journalist. Once a Journalist was asking about her smoking. I tell you this Journalist was shown the door.

The Former King could sometime take a trip to Christianshavn and visit a pup and have a beer or two and have a good chat with other pubist.
