Default Fighting Steel

This is a very good old Microprose WW2 Tactical Surface Naval Sim.

It had some interesting scenarios & a simplistic campaign option

Graphically it was pretty good for the 1990s. It used 3D models to good effect.

I played it to death on the old computers, but it won't run on Windows 7.

There are codec issues with the decent intro vids but the actual 3D game screen won't render properly.

It still works for me on ye olde lappe toppe but it struggles.
Does anyone have it & managed to get it to run on modern 'puters?

Don't know of any way to get it to run on newer OS. Doubt running it in a Window will help either, sadly.

Thanks for the reply, Eddie.

I have come to the conclusion it is a lost cause.

I have tried the Storm Eagle offerings but for me they either flat out won't work or if they do work they have a user hostile control system.

Hoping somebody is going to come up with something similar historically accurate & fun.

Look through a pawn shop or craigslist for an old Pentium PC, then you'll have a retro machine to play the older games on. Should be able to get one for $40 or less.
