Default The WWII Hero America Abandoned

When I read this, I didn't know whether I felt more happy for a soldier being given his due or more angry his own country, for which he gave his life, seemed to care so little for him...

http://news.yahoo.com/wwii-hero-amer...-politics.html

It is good to the heart to see other nations are grateful and worked to return him and honor his service, even the country that once was his enemy...

Rest in final peace, PFC Gordon, and thanks from those of us who do care...

but what your country is not going to do for you.
It could also be that because he was a Canadian, even though he was fighting on the U.S. side that the U.S. Army doesn't think it has the jurisdiction to repatriate him.
Rest in Peace, PFC Gordon.
