Was first implemented in Athens.
And it didn't have much of an impact on air pollution, since most families living there own 2 - old, right, but still 2 - cars, making most people able to circulate everyday. That anti-pollution measure will be at least as inefficient in here as in Greece I guess.

Some cities in Colombia have had this for quite some time now (pollution is a huge problem in cities like Bogota. Your car's license plate determines what days you can drive. Of course wealthy families get around this by getting several cars and bribing the motor vehicle people to give them sequential plates.
