TDW 7.4.2. installation help required.

Help! i have been trying to install TDW's 7.4.2 new UI mod for in excess of 18 months, with absolutely no success. I can and have downloaded it. It states it is JGSME ready. It will load into activated mods section of JGSME loader. However, will it activate (work) when i go to Sub pen? No way!.
I need help from the beginning (A to Z) of how to install this Mod before I commit Harri-Karri.
Please help this Noob on this installation, gentlemen?

TDW’s New Ui is a collection of 13 mods.

Once you have unzipped the mod you will see this

NewUi’s_...

Open this

You will then see

Dials (Also contains a text “Readme”)

Mods

Texts (If you require a different language from English)

Open the “Mods Folder” and you will see the 13 mods

The “Main Mod” is in “Folder 3”

It is these 13 Mods that have the “Data Folder” that you need for the game.

Copy the “Main Mod Folder 3” in to your “SH5 Mods Folder”

You should now see this on the left side of “JSGME”

Right click on the mod with your mouse.

Right click on "Explore"

If you can see the “Data Folder” you will now have a working mod once you enable it.

Any additional Ui mods you want put behind the “Main Mod”

"Default-Stock"? May I ask where that is found?
Is it in "my documents-SH5?

No you do not need to look for anything I am just stating how you see the default setting.

The default stock setting when you first go in to it will show yes, yes, yes.

Because you are using TDW's Ui you need to change one of those settings to a "no"

That's all there is to it.

Dear friend. Sorry to trouble you again, however, your explanations are very direct and extremely clear. I was wondering if you could assist me on 2 other small problems?
1. How does one activate the snorkel device and where do I find a snorkel?.
2. I am having considerable problems with "equipment upgrades fix v1.4 by the beast", in as much that it clashes with MCCD 1.04 MFCM 1.2.1 compatible ( used to allow additional commands for "Mighty fine crew" mod) and either have to have one or the other removed. Currently running AFFOE version which is not as good as the Beast's version, but it allows both at least.

The “Snorkel” is in TDW’s Option File Editor Viewer”

I think it is the 1st tab!

You will see all the available U_boats.

You can change them all or individually.

You will get a thumping great lump sticking out of your conning tower.

This will restrict your left view.

At “Snorkel Depth” make sure you are running on “Standard Propulsion” (Yellowed)

In bad weather you will find the “Batteries” will kick in and out.

HOW TO INSTALL “TDW’s OPTION FILE EDITOR VIEWER”

HOW TO USE THE “JSGME MOD VALIDATOR”

HOW TO USE THE “SH VALIDATOR”

This is how I Installed TDW’s Option File Editor Viewer with the mod "Enabled"

Go to your "Mods Folder".

“TDW’s File Option File Editor Viewer” is inside “TDW’s NewUI Base Mod”.

Right click the mouse on the “Base Mod” (i.e.7_4_2) and “Open” it.

Open the “Data Folder”

Open the “Application Folder”

Open the “OptionFileEditorViewer Folder”

Open the “Application” “OptionsFileEditorViewer”

Open “File”

Click on “Set path to menu.txt”

Click on “Menu” (This is the last file)

Open “File”

Click on “Set SH5 install path”

Select your main “Silent Hunter 5 Folder” but do not open it.

“Ok” it.

Go to “File”

Select the first “Open”

This will show the .py “TheDarkWraithUserOptions”

Double click on it and this will open up the “Editor”

You should now see a row of “Option Tabs”

Make your changes. (These changes should made in the bunker)

To “Save” your changes.

Go to “File”

Select “Save”

“Ok” it.

Except all prompts.

The first time you “Save” You may be taken to the “Menu” py files. If this is the case you select the py file that is the last file in the list.

“TheDarkWraithUserOptions”. Click on it and select “Save”. You will get a “Save” confirmation.

Although it is recommended I have never done this in “JSGME” with the mod disabled.

If you wish to do it this way.

With the mod disabled.

You right click on it and select “Explore”

This takes you directly to the “Application Folder” As shown above.

Follow the above instructions from that point.

When I make changes when the mod is “Enabled” I always reset “Set path to menu.txt”

If you are running "Steam" you cannot enable "Decks Awash" as it also needs to be enabled in "TDW's Generic File Patcher"

You may also have noticed that when you went to the “Applications Folder” there was also in this Folder:

The “JSGME Mod Validator” File Folder.

Click on this and then click on the “JSGMEModValidator” “Application”

Select “SH5”

If you want to find the path yourself then click on “Yes”

Select your main “Silent Hunter 5 Folder” but do not open it.

“Ok” it.

The “Validator” will now start to work and you will see all the “Enabled Mods”.

It will show if the mods have been installed correctly.

It will show “Determining Each Mods Conflicts Conflicting Files”.

This is shown by using the codes “D – A – W – S”

You may again also have noticed that when you went to the “Applications Folder” there were also in this Folder:

The “SH5 Validator” File Folder.

Open the “SH5Validator” “Application”

Select “SH5”

“Ok” it.

If you want to find the path yourself then click on “Yes”.

Select your main “Silent Hunter 5 Folder” but do not open it.

“Ok” it

It will “Validate” the following:

Countries

Classes

Campaigns

Saved Campaigns

Roster

Def

When the “Validation” has completed if it has found any “Errors” you can review “The Log For Errors”

“Errors” are denoted by leading “*********”

You will then be offered to “Generate a Log File”.

“Ok” to generate one.

This will allow you to give the “Log” a “File Name” of your choice and also where you want to put it.

“Save” it

You will get a “Confirmation” “Save Created Successfully”

“Ok” it

This is held as a “Text File” that you can then view the status of all the files that were logged.

Holy S---!!. You don't do things by halves, do you. Bloody marvellous! I shall be wading through this for a happy hour or two.

one thing i did notice and that is the link to steel vikings interior mod patch 1.2.2 is not working. Where do I acquire it,please?
I have now placed the mods as you suggested in order thereof into JGSME. I looked at the number of clashes/ contradictions that it kept throwing up with some trepadation. I thought here is a CTD if ever I saw one. WRONG! It flew on. Superb. Many, many thanks.

Large metal structure on the left hand side, so you said. I did not expect Battersea Power Station! Extending into the Iffel Tower when raised. There are 5 of us watch keeping at present plus IT!! My solutions are simple;
a. change the crew.
b. pray I am not in an air attack as there would be an additional 4 on the Flak guns.
c. Cancel the boats Christmas works party.

You have probably gathered that all went well and IT, is now on board and working, all thanks to your superb noob proof guidance.

i cannot thank you enough, captain for your patience and consideration. if there is any way i can return the compliment, you know who to contact.

Finally,I was wondering if you had chance to read my comment above regarding Steel Viking's patch mod.

Hello there,Captain.
Couple of interesting things have come up and I was wondering if you had experienced them.
1.just put back into the sub Pen and decided that I would try out the viking patch. To enter this correctly I had to take off all existing activated Mods in JGSME and re-enter a new list identical to the one taken off plus 2 or 3 additions, being careful to keep the correct order.
I went back then to Sub Pen and all was ok till I arrived aboard the boat. NO SNORKEL.
I came out of the game completely and decided to check if snorkel was activated in options viewer, having saved it the first time around. IT WAS DE-activated. I was wondering why it de-activated itself. Is it supposed to be re-activated every time you change a mod in JGSME?

Another anomaly is why after choosing your Sub skin does it change to plain grey basic skin until the first time it auto saves, whence you can acquire the chosen skin by having to go to menu and restarting the current game?

In respect of essential links, I would not mind Sobers Loading Tips.
