Default Silent Hunter 5 Question

Hey all, I've been a fan of the SH series for awhile now. My favorite thing about SH3-4 was the open campaign, where I could patrol any part of the map during a mission. From what I heard and read about SH5 was that it was a more misson based campaign, where you were given one OBJ or area to patrol, then the mission was over. Based on this, and numerious other complaints about the game, I passed on buying it. I know its been out awhile now, so I thought I would drop back by and ask how the mods have improved the game. Has there been any changes to the campaign, is it more open ended now? With the mods improvement is the game anywhere near where SH3 was with the GW mod? Thanks for your help

Default Get this game!!

Hello, I'm still a newbie to mods, and admittedly I did love SH5 in stock form. But, I've learned to install mods and I'm running a pretty nice mod list (Sober's Mega mod), and I highly recommend this game.

Happy hunting friend!!

Welcome back GenTroyGet em all! All the SH's have their own unique favorable aspects and the SHV is modded so well it's catching up to SHIII; I play SHV and still play SHII and Destroyer Command. And have SHIV still on the shelf for when I get adventurous and head for the Pacific.
