Default Aircraft disappearing from radar

OK, this just started happening 2 days ago, but it's happened at least 6 times now. My SOP for aircraft contacts is to do a quick plot to see if it's going to come within 6 miles of me (shorter if cloudy or twilight). If it is, I go to periscope depth with my air search radar boom raised. My scopes are both down. Normally, I'll track the aircraft from about 10 miles out and wait until it's at least 6 miles away before surfacing.

The last couple of days, planes that I'm tracking disappear. This has happened at ranges varying from within 200 yards to 2 miles of my position. The blip just stops and fades out like it does when an object goes out of radar range. I raise my scope, no aircraft. I surface, and the aircraft that should have been immediately spotted is just NOT there.

So have the special operators I've dropped off at the coast been messing with the AV Gas supply to make the planes fall out of the sky, or do I have a bug here.

Currently running:

TMO 2.5
TMO 2.5 Small Patch
RSRDC for TMO 5.02
RSRDC 5xx Patch
Traveler Mod 2.6 for TMO

well, if you raise your scope, you should get a visual. It's been a long time, but it may be due to travs mod, as it changes a lot with planes. As I recall I noticed this a few times with his shadow planes, they stay high up and don't attack, just shadow you. Im guessing the visuals from the crew don't spot them, but nor does radar....Happens again, try looking yourself high up and see if you can spot a shadowing plane.

Exactly. These things are close enough when they disappear from radar, that I should get an immediate "Aircraft spotted!" when I raise the scope, but nothing is there. The planes have all been approaching when they vanish, too. I'll try the external cam next time it happens and see if I see a shadow plane. Thanks, Armistead.

Hi Vaux, your not alone
Got a very similar behaviour of aircraft radar contacts, but only with "allied" planes (RAF).
Radar contact is identified as "ship / moving very fast", when closing identification changes to "aircraft". No visual contact is reported, no matter if I use the scope from PD or binoculars from the bridge. It is not possible to view the plane by myself, sometimes I even hear the sound of the plane engines. Switching to external or free camera has the same result, no visuals.
Since we are using the same set of mods, maybe this is the reason.

I tried to verify this with an enemy airplane, got visual contact reported, spotted the plane by binoculars and it attacked my boat as expected. Danaged my AA, the hull paint and scratched my honour
