Default New Snotty on the boat

I've been playing Silent Hunter 2 and 3 for many years and used this site to get information and updates for SH3 and I've always been very impressed with how it's run and the knowledge of it's members so now I've started with SH4 I thought that I should take the plunge and actually join the site rather than just digging through it for info.

I'm a bit of a history buff and I've always been interested in submarines, despite being in the airforce! I tend to use the SH sims with full realism and all the aids turned off because my work involves lots of time and distance calculations and I use SH to sharpen my maths.

Considering the above, having newly embarked on SH4 would you recommend the RFB or TMO downloads?

I've read the advice on downloading, which I'm sure you all find really easy but while I work with computers all day I'm a complete dud when it comes to anything but the basics, so expect some SOS calls. I don't do social media and this is my first ever thread so be gentle and thank you all for a great site.

Hey G Man, welcome to SubSim.

Questions about SH4 are best asked here.
