Cheers fellas,

been playing SubSims since GATO on 368 and never made my way here omg how could I have played Silent Service, Silent Hunter 1,2,3,5 and what else more not knowing what to experience here at .
I am completely overwhelmed about all the opportunities, the work and comittment of this community.

What made me come now is that I wanted to play a SubSim after a long while and checked the net for what new SubSims might be out. You get outdated so quickly on games, movies etc. once you start some kind of real life with work and family .

Anyway it showed up there is nothing new to SH5 so I checked my games and could not find the hardcopy of Sh5 (moved all is a mess where is the gal if ya need it cleaning up ). So I decided to go to Steam and buy it and there was a package for SH 3,4 and 5 for some cheap bucks yay .

And now I could not decide what to play... SH3 I get IX boats while not on SH5, but SH5 the interface and navigation is nicer.... awtttzzz
So I started a campaign on both games and kept switching forth and back as I could not decide. Now seeing all those mods here it seems I can play either and make it look like the other and add boats and campaigns to my liking

Thanks much for the stunning and spiffy work of all the modders and for keeping this site alive. Let's hope there will be a brand new and great SubSim coming to market soon

I checked Silent Hunter Online yesterday, looked like good fun playing together with people, I was just shocked of how expensive that is to play.
No promotion and reward crew management without paying cash and any little upgrade will cost you cash already, even the crappiest Torpedo that is just a little better than the base 1939 torp

cheers,
Theargo

That would have been my suggestion, so you're already ahead of the curve.
