SH4 models in SH5?

I was browsing the museum and it seems like they just took many SH4 ship models and slapped them into SH5 with a slightly different texture? This got me thinking on how compatible 3rd party ship models would be to use between games and just how hard would it be to build models for SH4 or SH5. Id personally like to see some of the old grand ladies of the sea from Cunard/White Star or other lines as troop transports.

Side note. WTF is with the portholes you could drive a duce n a half thru and many ships lacking proper bridges.

Any help appreciated, been playing for many many years but never thought to get into modding myself until recently.
