Default Adding new ships to a mod?

I recently added several new merchant ships to my SH4 SEA folder, but noticed they were not putting out the thick black smoke my other merchants were. I'm running Vickers Different Smoke for Merchants/Warhips mod, so I copy/pasted the new ships to the SEA folder in the mod, but still no thick black smoke. Is there something I need to do to get the new merchants to put out the black smoke like the ones listed in the mod? ...or is there a seperate mod or file change for new ships?

Hello, for changing the smoke of ship you need to edit the respective *.sim file, using the S3ditor. Best, open first the sim file of a ship that uses the desired smoke, go to obj_Funnel, klick the properties, and then copy the ID number of the smoke. Now open the sim file of the ship you want to have that smoke and paste the ID into respective position. Save the file ...
