I tried making a dark filter for covering the attack scope view area to reduce the light and it worked on my previous pc. Trouble was this made the obs scope far superior during the day.
Now OLC when making his GUI, left out the red mask. This gives an option to utilise the red mask command to bring in the dark filter. If we could swap a red mask tga for the dark mask filter tga and move it over the attack periscope viewing area. This means at day the attack scope has no dark filter and works as normal. When night falls the red mask is triggered and so covers the attack view with a dark filter, This will make it very hard to see anything compared to the obs scope. So the obs will be best to use at night. If we put the AOB disc on just the attack periscope, this will give the attack scope an advantage to use during the day. I'm building a GUI so that the AOB disc uses the scopes reticules for measuring. The 2 scopes will be both same size and magnification. This means at night when I use the obs, I can take measurements and go to the attack scope and use the AOB disc to compute the figures if I want. I'll check the obs has more vertical movement to scan the sky as well. I tried to model it on real history, but I can't find a way to make the obs scope more detectable at day than the attack one. So I did this work around. Last edited by badwolf; 09-28-13 at 12:02 PM. |

With filter behind scopes, i make obs one slightly lighter, and attack one slightly darker. Difference between the two should not be too large. The result is completely enough for me, as an incentive to use obs periscope for dark condition, and to prefer attack periscope during the day.
