Default RO / NGC / SNG

Anyone ever play Raider Operations / Naval Gunnery Campaign / Strategic Naval Gunnery?

I helped a bit on the game for a little while. The premise was great, the realism was fantastic and the AI was downright deadly. Sure, the graphic were old school even for the time (can you say CGA?) - but the multiplayer was WAY ahead of its time. More than once we had what were unheard of numbers of people playing for the time - especially since there was no "server" side.

The game was truly amazing in what it did.

Let's put it this way - ever want to recreate Jutland - historically accurate? Ever think you could take the order of battle and do better?
RO (as I knew it) let you do that.

Paul Shaffer, the developer, was committed to historical accuracy and created a fantastic game. He dropped off the map about 5 years ago, and the game just dropped dead. You can still technically "buy" it (as you get a membership to a defunct club) but you can't get an unlock key.

Anyway - I was curious is there are any old HSR members that still have/play the game or know how to contact Paul.

For those interested in the game, the closest to it now is Steam and Iron.
Not nearly as detailed though.
