A terrible shame, used to enjoy watching him on 'Breakfast with Frost' on Sundays, a legendary interviewer, both courteous and direct, he has inspired a generation of broadcasters.

RIP, and thank you.

Sad news. Remember watching him during the late 60s and early 70s. Even as a kid I enjoyed his interviewing style.

This is sad; too bad there aren't really any of his sort around today. I remember him from way back, starting with "That Was The Week That Was" in the mid-60s. His subsequent projects were always informative, intelligent, and entertaining. His Nixon interviews are a benchmark I wish current newscasters ot which would aspire...

Thank You, David and RIP...

I wonder if he could get a job on some of the networks today.

Most likely, not; considered intelligence, broad knowledge, interview skills, and all the other attributes of people such as Frost are not sought in the sound-bite, 'Fox News' era today. Saw a photo the other day of Walter Cronkite and Edward R. Murrow seated together in a studio and my first thought was very similar to yours: those men would never be hired today...

Here's a link to some of his famous interviews, including Nixon, McCartney in 1965 (who said he would retire by 2010,lol) a British MP named Powell, not familiar with him, and some others you might remember.

40 years. That's a long and respectable career.
