Default KDB Depth question

So, using TDW's no surface hydro mod, does the max depth (-8m) also take into account the location of the sensor relative to the keel?

I'm asking because my sub seems deaf at 14 meters with the KDB hydrophone, yet it is my understanding that KDB equipped submarines retained the GHG array, meaning the hydro dude would use GHG at the shallow depths (in turn, meaning I should be able to hear stuff at periscope depth)

You are correct: the KDB was usually fitted together with the GHG. This fact is ignored by most mods affecting hydrophone ranges. Two solutions come to my mind:

- editing KDB specs so to simulate the simultaneous usage of a GHG; this would be just a compromise;

- if possible (have to test it) much better would be editing upgrade files so that when the KDB is selected, our boat is equipped with both KDB and GHG
