Default New request for a (probably impossible) mod.

Gentlemen,
I've never made a request for a mod before, and I know nothing of modding, save for the fact that modders have made this sim a thousandfold more enjoyable than the stock version.
Also, something tells me that my request, while seemingly simple, may well be beyond the ability of the modders to provide, given their limited control over the source code.

But, here goes:
Would it be possible to craft a mod that would place a Mark (X) on the navmap whenever we send a range/bearing reading to the TDC?

This would be analogous to the plot crew marking the attack chart when the skipper calls out "Bearing (Range)...........Mark!"
This would be a true joy (even a realistic one!) for those of us that play with map contacts OFF, but I see no reason others could not benefit as well.

Please excuse me if this has been asked and answered before.
Thank you-

This mod is probably my most desired feature. I would be willing to pay my full purchase price again for either this feature, the ability to use the nav map tools on the attack map screen, or the TDC position marker on the nav map.

I don't know that this has been in a mod request per se, but the subject has certainly come up at times.

I agree this would be a very desirable feature. The flaws in the charts were probably the first problem I noticed in SH4. In fact, the whole aspect of what the player should always know, what the player should sometimes know, and what the player should never know, was, sadly, given a superficial treatment. If Ubi had put more effort into all this, we would have a 100% better game.

I agree

the problem is the developers of the game usually have a predetermined
amount of time to work on any given game.

so rather then releasing a good game for the sake of making a great game
"when it's ready" the priority is usually to push it to the shelves by Xmas.
and rework bugs "if" they get time...

If there's too many issues with it after rushing it to market
"Slap a on sale stiicker on it" & ...On to the next project!

Example ->SH5

$$$, & Not Father Time is the overall problems most games have these days..
so I will emphasize it's not @ all the "Developers Fault" because they take orders like everyone else.

It's the entire way most games are given short deadlines in the game industry these days, not just Ubi.
or as I tend to simply refer to it as: cookie cutter syndrome.
