Just because they can. It must be an adrenaline rush to do it knowing that you could die if you make a mistake, and then feel amazing when you survive. On the other hand I think that you also have to have a little bit of madness to attempt it in the first place.

Several of the Wallenda family have had that same outcome. That's why they call it "death-defying" and they are known as "daredevils".
