Watching Operation Pacific (1951 w/John Wayne) now. Thanks for the heads up GR.
By the way, checked the schedule, great war movies on TCM all weekend.

I can't believe I've never seen or heard of Operation Pacific. Great 1951 movie!
I just ordered the dvd for my "theatre library"...through Subsim/Amazon of course.

I loved it...however I liked the Pacific better... Just my opinion. I can't wait for the next one about the ETO Air War.

Generation Kill is the one I'm wanting to see. I heard it's good.

I'd buy it on DVD but it's 42$ on sale.

I'll wait a bit and see if I can't find a better price.

So buy a copy. You can get a used one from Amazon for $3.52 (plus $3.99 shipping) and Neal gets a cut.

I've got other things to pay for at this point in time otherwise I would. I want the book too...but that's expensive on Amazon last time I checked. I might hit the Military Antique store. They've usually got old movies and books in there.

Good call.

Of course I'm being crochety because I can't afford to have cable. Besides, it's cheaper to buy what I want rather than pay monthly for a bunch of stuff I don't.
