Default All saved games load as paused - will not un-pause

Evening gents,
Had a PC crash while playing SH5 and now all of my saved games load, but they load in a paused state and there is no sound. No matter what I try the game will not un-pause. Any ideas or suggestions? I hate to lose this career - early 1941 with a healthy tonnage and ship count.

My preference would be to not reinstall and lose all progress unless there is no other option...

Any ideas? Any guesses? No new mods or old mods were removed or added. No changes were made to the configuration what-so-ever. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I need your combined knowledge and help please!

well im sure you corrupted some of the files when it crashed, if the game runs fine on its own without using saved games then I thing the game is fine and its your saved games that are fubar now.

if you are dealing with offline save then I would think only the last save might be fubar so if its more then just that then i think its going to end up being the game that's fubar requiring you do an uninstall and reinstall.

there is another option you may not have thought about, it may be a windows corruption if it was doing an auto update or something at the time it crashed. if that's the case your screwed and windows must be reinstalled, doing a repair erases all your files anyway so if needed don't do the repair just do a new install of windows. make backup copies of your saved games in case it ends up being a windows issue.

run some cleanup utilities in case its spyware or a virus doing it.

Thanks for your assistance Webster... looks like a re-install is my only option.

No windows issues. There is a problem with basic SH5 functionality. After re-install I will see if saved games are valid.

Thanks again sir.

As with Hardigen above, it also happened to me with Sh3, to cure it go into game files, open data/cfg find and delete the file called ' main' exit and restart the game, go to options and select your choice, exit the game then restart and your game will be unpaused.
Dont worry about deleting main, the game creates another when you restart.

Sorry I,ve not replied ,I,ve been away. Open the main.cfg file in the data folder and its the [TIME COMPRESSION] that gets corrupted .you may only have to change the RealTime=1 option FROM RealTime =0 TO RealTime=1 .But sometimes the whole [TIME COMPRESSION] goes missing . Here is the missing section , please print the list one under the other ( I can,t do it on here for some reason) [TIME COMPRESSION] RealStop=0 RealTime=1 LandProximity=4 CriticalDamage=1 CrewEfficiency=1 AirEnemyDetected=1 SoundEffects=2 CharacterAnim=8 RadioReport=8 Particles=8 PrayState=8 HunterState=32 3DRender=32 Maximum=1024 . I hope it helps you . I,m unable to copy the letter and also to print it ,my printer has a problem with this new computer The Letter shows the [TIME COMPRESSION] list in between the [SETTINGS] list and the [VIDEO] list , if it helps I,ll be glad Good Hunting H
