Default Who would've thought they were soooo maneuverable

Came across this video, I don't think I could even do this on my pushbike!

Yeah, he's good.

I could do that on a 250, but not on something that size.

Note to self...

Avoid any chases with N Texas motorcycle LEO's.

I've seen a few of those exhibitions and competitions. Amazing what those guys can do with a big bike like that.

This video is from around my area. The yellow stripes at 2:35, 3:41 and 4:09 are friends of mine from my department.

Besides acquiring their regular motorcycle license, they have to successfully complete a 1 week course on Motorcycle Safety followed by a 2 week course on Motorcycle Pursuit Tactics before they're even allowed to join the Motorcycle Patrol Division. These competitions are held regularly (during warm weather in my area) and open to the public. It's a way for them to keep their MC skills sharp.

Nice, I'd probably crash with a moped on this course

I wonder how our LEO's would do

Not to be judgmental, but some of those fellows appear to be past due for some foot patrol duty.

I believe they do this course to enable them to get to the front of the doughnut* queue without hitting anyone else in the line.

*Other high fat/high sugar snacks are available.

You're right. I noticed that too. I think that guy (blue stripe) is from the Paterson Motorcycle squad. I know for a fact that the training standards, since I first became a cop, have significantly decreased. Today's cadets aren't required to do half of the things I had to do. The weight restrictions are less demanding, the acedemic skills are less stringent, the physical training is much less demanding, etc..
Paterson has it's own academy and believe me, I've been there for some in-service training courses, it's what I've always referred to as a "Coffee & Donuts" academy. Still, Paterson is a very rough city (I was born & raised there) and overweight or not, those guys can still handle themselves well.
