I just reinstalled my SH5, and put all my mods in the order that I did once before (No one could tell me whats caused incompatibilities) so I used the old setup, but now, with the same mods, in the same order, I get a CTD before the game even starts, as the game loads, it just crashes, I never even get to see the sub pen.
All the mods I have, are must haves for me, and I am on the verge of just giving up, and finding another game. Any help? Sorry for the grammar error in the title, I don't know how to edit thread titles. Last edited by V13dweller; 03-16-13 at 01:30 AM. |

yes that can cause a lot of problems. the best thing you can do now deaktivate the mods and intalls the game complely new. After that make an update and then you can activate the mods you like to use, Hope that helps Best Regards DrJones |

I tried the launch the Gu.exe and it just launches Uplay after the updating bar instantly fills.

I recently had a hdd die, so I've just done a vanilla Install.
Get 3 errors at the end. One for run time 2.0, one for directx and another for the ubi launcher. Uplay comes up, and says the game isn't installed and wants to do a 4gig download. Grrrrrr. |

V13dweller, just some thoughts ...
... when you started again, did you use the same player name as you had before and are the saves in the same location under that same name? Are you loading a previous save that's in the dock and not at sea? You mentioned that you don't even get to the pen, so I'm assuming this is the case, but am asking anyways. Also, did you have a backup of that SH5 folder in My Documents in case the new install had over-written any of your settings? I remember having similar problems, because those settings didn't match after a reinstall. If the restore didn't work, I just started a new campaign to save the hassle. How about starting a new campaign using a different name to make sure the game can start with your loaded mods. If that works, then it could be anything mentioned above or by other people. ![]() I hope it works out ... |
