Default map advice needed

hey guys...i dont know if im having a little trouble or not but i have been following trevallys tutorial to the letter but something is not adding up for me...
can you guys check this for me to see if what im doing is correct...

REINACTMENT: (my position is at 209 all stop 25M depth)

Contact moving slow, closing, bearing 299 Long Range
( 299+209=503-360=148)

*20 min passes*

Contact moving fast, constant distance, bearing 341 Long Range
(341+209=550-360=190)

*20 min passes*

Contact moving fast, moving away, bearing 080, Long Range
(080+209=289)

est. speed at: over 30 knots?!?!?!

place x high up on second bearing line
paralell line on b3 placed on b2, paralell line on b1 placed on b2 x mark
mark both intersections
compass on b2 x, to intersect both points of intersection on B1 and B3
move that to b3 intersection mark
etc etc

kinda gave up when i noticed my target must have been driving a merchant vessel with warp speed capabilities lol is there something wrong with my soundguy or am i doing this wrong somewhere?

many thanks for your reply

With only three line you cant tell the speed or distance.
Just use the three lines to draw the course of the target.

So draw this course ensuring the gap between each is the same.

Now drive for your fourth bearing - you must move after the third.
When the next 20mins is up - stop and take a bearing.
Adjust you drawn course line (parallel) to the fourth bearing.
Only now do you have range and speed

i got one more question as im a little confused...lost actually.. sometimes ive noticed in the muck of things ill be notified of a ship heading for example 297 degrees...now if i take 297 and add my course say its 217 - 360 = 154 but...when i look out my periscope...its almost like hes going a whole complete direction then what i calculated...does this -360 thing apply to every bearing and heading you receive?

also, i have tried your 90 degree angle TDC but im using real navigation and so things are not adding up to me or am i just completly stupid and dumbfounded...math isnt my strong point lol...at all lol like i beleive your speed in knots was 7 knots as he travelled 2700M or something...mine...well mine was way higher as i didnt really know where to measure to as i dont got map contacts either really so how would i know where to measure to get targets speed and such?

When you are on map view - 0deg is north
When you look out the scope - 0deg is from the bow

The fast90 tut is for use with map contacts on.
Instead of using the map - try finding the speed with the u-jagd
